Welcome to the Planning Collaborative!
We are here to provide technical land use planning assistance to northwest Connecticut with an emphasis on the rural towns of Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, North Canaan, Norfolk, Kent, Salisbury and Sharon.
Through this Collaborative, we provide efficient and cost effective professional planning services to our partner towns. We also plan to share our work with all towns in the Northwest Connecticut and Litchfield Hills planning regions.
Many planning issues in this region are similar across all towns. Rather than each individual town using their own scarce resources to pay for planning assistance, the Collaborative will prepare and share technical planning advice by professional planners hired to serve the regional area.
How to use this site:
The purpose of this website is to provide easy access to much needed information, analyses, and explanations from professional planners. Visit the resources page to see how you can address issues important to the region such as:
- affordable and workforce housing;
- subdivision and zoning standards;
- natural, scenic and cultural conservation;
- open space, habitat, and farmland protection; and
- economic development.
We also provide links to related initiatives, organizations and publications that you may find of interest.
Click on town documents to view all of the available town plans of conservation and development and land use regulations in the regional area.
